Our movement is the nation’s largest and most impactful breast cancer movement and raises funds for lifesaving breast cancer research and programs, working to ensure everyone has a fair and just opportunity to live a longer, healthier life free from breast cancer.\n\n\n\nWhat You Need to Know\n\n\nMaking Strides of Miami\n\n\nSite Map to Come\n\n\n\n\nKnow Before You Go & FAQs about American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Miami\n\n\n\n\nAttending Survivors, Thrivers, and Previvors\n\n\n\n\n\nSurvivor, Thriver, and Previvor Lounge Presented by ZTA\nSurvivors, thrivers, and previvors are invited to join us on walk day at the survivor lounge. Survivors and one guest will be invited into the survivor lounge for a small breakfast along with coffee and refreshments.\nThe survivor lounge will be open from 7:30 AM-10:30 AM with breakfast for registered survivors and one guest from 7:30-9 AM\nWHO is the lounge for? The lounge is exclusively for registered breast cancer survivors, thrivers, and previvors and one guest.\nWHAT is in the lounge? From 7:30-9 AM, registered survivors can join us in the survivor lounge for breakfast. The survivor lounge will remain open until 11 AM for fun activities and goodie handouts and survivor sashes and pins by Zeta Tau Alpha.\nThank you to Zeta Tau Alpha, the American Cancer Society’s Official Survivor Sponsor\nREGISTERED-ONLY- meaning you’ve registered for Making Strides Miami and identified yourself as a survivor prior to walk day. You will be allowed one guest inside the lounge with you. Check-in & wrist band are required to enter.\nTIMING- 7:30 AM- 11 AM: survivor lounge opens, 7:30-9 AM: survivor breakfast, 9 AM: walk route opens, 11 AM: Survivor lounge closes\n\n\n\n\n\nFrequently Asked Questions\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDo I need to sign up?\nYes! It is important that every person who steps foot on the plaza registers so we can be sure to have enough food and beverage for every participant along with bathrooms. Registering is easy and has no cost! Join by signing up on the main home page of makingstrideswalk.org/miamifl\nCan I bring my dog/ cat/ rabbit/ snake/ monkey/ goldfish?\nService animals are the only animals allowed at our Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk.\nT-Shirt? **Important info for Survivor Shirts\nA highlight of Making Strides Miami is all our teams showing up with their unique T-Shirts. Survivors who are registered as a survivor will receive an email to redeem their event T-Shirt. Please note- survivor t-shirts will not be available day-of.\n\n\nWalk Distance? \nThree laps around the walk route = 5k. Signs will show where to go on walk day.\nHow long is the walk?\nThe gates will open to the public at 7 AM and our tents will start activating. 8 AM is the opening ceremony, 9 AM walk route opens, 10:30 AM walk route shuts down, and 11 AM all tents shut down.\nDoes my team get a tent?\nTents are reserved for our incredible sponsors who have exciting activations planned for you and our top fundraising teams. If you are interested in joining us as a sponsor, please reach out to Jessica.Giarrusso@Cancer.org to learn more.\nWhere do I park?\nTBA\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKnow Before You Go\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArriving & Walk Details: \nThere will be track marker signage along the way to lead you in the right direction.\nPlease plan to meet your team at a designated location before making your way to the Check-in Tent (if necessary to drop off cash or check or need support). We anticipate more than 20,000 people on walk day!\nHand washing stations and hand sanitizing stations will be located at all restroom facilities.\nCheck-in Tent: \nCheck- In begins at 7:00 am and will be open until 9:30 am. Cash/Check donations are able to be collected at the check-in tent only. There will be drop boxes and team envelopes provided to place your donations in. The donations will be counted, deposited, and credited to your team.\nWe highly suggest using our ACS Fundraising app and or scheduling a drop-off day with your ACS staff partner, Jessica Giarrusso at Jessica.Giarrusso@cancer.org.\n\n\nPlaza Activities: \nEnjoy our exciting on plaza activations by our sponsors. Enjoy additional entertainment and fun music prior to the opening ceremony.\nRoute Details: \n3 laps around the route = 5k\nOur Walk starts promptly at 9am after our coveted ribbon cutting ceremony with local Miami-Dade and Municipalities Government, as well as our Board of Ambassadors and Men Wear Pink Ambassadors.\nThe walk route will open at 9 AM and close to the inside at 10:30 AM.\nIf you’d like to keep walking, the perimeter walk-route will remain open through 11 AM. Three laps = 5k.\nFor the safety of all participants, we request NO bicycles, skateboards, or animals on the walk route. Wheelchairs and strollers are ok! Smoking and alcohol are prohibited.\nHand-held signs only, please: Distribution or display of promotional materials of any kind is not allowed. Only hand-held team signage is allowed. If any signs are placed on the ground, leaning on a tree, or stationary, they will be removed. Sponsor signage and materials are allowed only those who have been pre-approved.\nSuggestions for things to bring with you: We suggest bringing sunscreen, a hat, and appropriate clothing for the weather and walk (we walk rain or shine). Water will be available at 3 stops along the walk route.\n\n\nAttention breast cancer survivors! \nPlease stop by our Survivor Tent where you will have the opportunity to receive special recognition from our ZTA Sorority volunteers and Making Strides survivor sash and pin.\nDress Code Policy:\nThe venue reserves all rights to prohibit obscene, indecent or offensive clothing (e.g. bathing suits, vulgar/political words/phrases, images on clothing, etc.)\nDonations, Checks, Etc. \nDonations will be accepted for the 2026 Making Strides walk until December 20, 2026.\nChecks should be made out to the American Cancer Society and in the memo section of the check simply write:\nMaking Strides Against Breast Cancer and Team Name.\nDonations can be collected before or after the walk and should be mailed to: \nAmerican Cancer Society, ATTN: Making Strides of Miami EWUTXC PO Box 17127 Tampa, FL 33682 \n\n\n\n\n
