The South Florida First Responders Foundation, 2025 Heroes Run! 10K • 5K • 1 Mile
Every day, South Florida’s first responders stand at the forefront of our community’s toughest moments, carrying burdens most of us will never see. Their courage is visible; their silent battles—the stress, trauma, and emotional toll that linger long after the sirens fade—often are not.
The Heroes Run, hosted by South Florida First Responders Foundation, Inc., 501(c)(3), is more than a race—it’s a lifeline. On November 29, 2025, in Pompano Beach, Florida, we will come together to honor those who give so much and to raise critical funds for organizations providing essential mental health services for first responders and their families.
Your participation helps us heal the healers, support the protectors, and show these heroes they are never alone. Together, we can turn gratitude into action and empathy into a movement—powered by the courageous spirits of the men and women who keep our community safe.
The South Florida First Responders Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, is hosting a benefit race to make a positive impact on the mental health needs of South Florida first responders. They have always been there for you; now is an opportunity for you to be there for them. This is a community event. We will be hosting a fun run, a 1-mile run, a 5K, and a 10K race. We hope to have 2,000 participants, including runners, walkers, and spectators, from local running communities as well as Police, Fire Rescue, Ocean Rescue, and military agencies throughout South Florida.
As a nonprofit itself, the foundation will donate all proceeds, minus vendor fees, to the Broward Sheriff’s Office Benevolent Association, the Pompano Beach Fire Rescue Benevolent Association, and the Pompano Beach Ocean Rescue Benevolent Association.
In addition to the above-mentioned beneficiaries, the South Florida First Responders Foundation Inc. (501(c)(3)) will donate a portion of the proceeds to “Stomping Out the Stigma,” a nonprofit organization that provides free counseling services to First Responders whose mental health has been compromised. The services are 100% confidential and do not furnish invoices with names, report back to any departments, or share any information with insurance companies. And the Florida chapter of “First Responders Foundation ,” a nonprofit organization that rescues and provides free emotional support dogs to first responders in need.
